Kingston Phoenix Road Club

Saturday morning social rides from Epsom:
The Saturday social rides are popular with many of our club members giving them an opportunity to meet for three or four hours on Saturday mornings. There are rides for on-road and off-road groups, meeting at 10am (to leave at 10:15) at the main car park in Horton Country Park in Horton Lane (near to the Old Moat Garden Centre). The rides are usually between 15 and 30 miles, riding out to a local café and usually return to Epsom between 1pm and 2pm. The pace is conversational and is not a training ride, although sometimes members go off after the café stop and do their own thing - and anyone wanting a training ride can do a slightly longer route to the cafe.

The café stops are currently scheduled as follows:

1st Sat of month = Claremont Gardens tea rooms - map | National Trust info
2nd Sat = Wisley tea hut in woods - map
3rd Sat = Stoke D'Abernon garden centre- map
4th Sat = Bockets Farm near Leatherhead- map - the map is not quite correct, access to the farm is by a lane parallel to Young Street which leaves the RAB by the "parking" sign. | Their own website
5th Sat if there is one = Garsons Farm, Esher- map | Their own website

We look forward to seeing you on one of the rides.

Club Events:
Unfortunately, due to a lack of local courses, we have to go out to Dorking and further south for our Club Events. The 10 course is the Holmwood Course, key number G10/42 - details here and the 25 course is also known as Holmwood, key number G25/47 - which starts in Mill Lane, south of the 10 start.

For events on either of these courses we meet at the Inholms Lane car park which can be found on this map. It is at the top of the hill, behind the church.
Parking, signing on and collection of numbers all take place here. The start can then be reached by rolling down the hill, past the church, and then turning left into Spook Hill. The start itself is just where Spook Hill swings to the right before joining the A24.
Pedestrian spectators can walk to the start through the woods - when it isn't too muddy - and the Little Chef across the A24 from Spook Hill provides a good vantage point to watch the riders' final efforts.
Please note: in deference to the local residents please do not to park in Spook Hill itself.

Club Nights:
Club Night is Thursday and is held at Worcester Park Athletic and Social Club from about 8:30pm 'til about 10pm.
In theory it is a joint clubroom between the Phoenix and the Cheam & Morden CTC Section, but we rarely see C&M members who are not Phoenix members. We now also share it with the Clarencourt CC, who are a much more sociable bunch.
Worcester Park Athletic and Social Club is in Green Lane, Worcester Park, well hidden behind Worcester Park station. There is a bar, and hopefully lots of convivial chat.
