Kingston Phoenix Road Club
Hon Gen Sec's Report 1948

It is once again my duty to report to you on the state of affairs of the Club during the past year. During the year your committee have held six meetings and the attendance of members at these meetings has been 100% in the case of all except one member who has only been absent once. Membership during the year increased; new members joining our ranks totalling 16, but 7 old members failed to renew their subscription and the strength of the club at the end of the year was 42. Four members were called to the services and two returned to our ranks after an enforced stay in exile.

The activities of the Club have been supported well, and I hope that members will continue to support their new committee as well as they have supported during this last year.

The Kingston Phoenix and C.T.C. News was revived during the year and so far has managed to get along quite well, but in this venture sales must be maintained. Thanks are due to those members who have provided materials and copy which has enabled us to carry this venture on at a small profit.

The Dance run in conjunction with the Kingston Section C.T.C was a success both financially and socially and once again thanks are due to certain members who put in a lot of work and time to make it so. It was very pleasing to note that the support generally from the Club was much greater than at the last function of this sort. The Club Dinner held in December last was a success socially even if a small loss was incurred.

Generally the past year has been a good one and I hope that the next one will be even better.
