My Mum and Dad would have liked this morning's sport. Once again very many thanks to everyone who made this year's race another success particularly those friends of the Clarencourt, including those from other clubs, who came out on the morning to lend a hand. I've got space, so let's give those clubs a mention. They included the Alton, Balham, Bournemouth Arrow, Epsom, Redhill, Redmon, Kingston Wheelers and Southern Velo and maybe others I've forgotten. The weather was good; nobody fell off (their bikes that is, not off the back - there were a few of them!) Thanks to your regular timekeepers Peters Reynolds and Cooke and to the whole of the usual Clarencourt race organizing crew who do so much on the day and behind the scenes beforehand. I apologize to the guys who I screamed at in Chiddingfold; I didn't know we were going to get there that early either. (Thanks to John and Jim for towing me and Norman round.) Apologies too for the incident of confusion at one junction when our chaps were distracted dealing with a demented member of the public. Five teams had their entries returned, a difficult choice - and one that I got wrong alas! I usually fill up the last few lines with moans aimed at improving the race. Firstly thanks to all who did everything properly and a pox, a plague and a pestilence on you and your houses forever to the rest of you, especially those who claimed that your circumstance was particular. Addresses are important not only for mailing the programme but also if you have an accident. Do nominate reserves if you can.
If your club is entering multiple teams then indicate their priority (A,B, etc) but do it for all of them. This helps me set the field and select who to reject.
We hope to see you all back next year meanwhile enjoy the rest of the season.
