With Frank Cubis, our Timekeeper, in Spain, along with Ron & Doreen Powney and the Margerys: and Pete Mitchell & Ray Dare in France it was going to be a quiet evening. I was glad when only 6 riders faced the timekeeper (I got volunteered in the absence of anyone else!) I had the fun of pushing the riders off in addition to keeping an eye on the watch. Jake didn't get a ride as no spectators meant no potential babysitters for the bookworm. In the end I wasn't too upset at losing my ride as it was a cool and uninspiring evening, and the riders reported that it was hard coming back from the turn. Tony had a trouble free ride at last and was able to break "evens" for a change. |
