This was probably about the best evening of the year so far, as a good number of improvements showed, but not everyone recorded their fastest 10 of the year. A light southerly wind helped us back from the turn and we had warm dry conditions - possibly even a little too warm - shock, horror! Amy had her chance to improve and was up to the challenge, recording a personal best. My post-holiday fitness has finally shown through and I have actually ridden at racing speed at last. Pete E, Ian, Pete M, Ann, Jake, Jen, Amy, Mark and myself all improved. Simon, Joe, Andrew, Grant & Tony were all close to their bests this year, but unable to improve.
Thanks to Tony for turning out to push us all off. Frank needs to be a little more careful about who he puts as first rider as he had to leg it across the road at top speed in order to get to the finish before Ann arrived! |
