We were blessed with a relatively warm and pleasant evening for the first 10 of the year. It was harder work going to the turn than coming back, but by no means a straight head-tail wind. There seems quite a battle around the 28/29 minute level, while Simon is almost out on his own still, although Iain looks to be a challenger this year. Nine of us were "fresh" from Majorca, having landed the day before, but the legs were not so fresh and I think most were slightly disappointed with their rides although the speed benefit is unlikely to show through just yet. I was pleased to have started the season better than for a number of years, but a 29:59 would have been better!
Tony Tugwell was pleased to finish for the first time out of four events he's ridden this year.
