Summer arrived on Saturday, with a warm, sunny day, but Sunday was having none of it. The morning was overcast and slightly misty, but at least it wasn't cold, just cool. The wind didn't seem too outrageous either: but being a North Westerley, made the return climbing through Kingsfold something of a slog.
Everyone rode limited gears, with a good turnout on fixed.
Simon romped home with the Brass Monkey trophy, but Barry gave him a good run for his money, beating him easily despite the handicap of one cleat coming loose.
Rachel and Dave would have been in the prizes, had they entered in advance, but instead it was another Mitchell benefit!

It was a morning of calamity for the PTT's: Barry's cleat; Trevor unshipped his chain after about a mile; Brian punctured; Bob had to stop and pump his tyre up - after attempting to cut out the leg to Clark's Green!; and David didn't even get to start because his brake cable broke on the start line.
